Amityville Horror House Up for Sale!

The Amityville Horror House is currently up for sale at $1.15 million dollars.  The house while believed to be haunted by the spirits of the brutally murdered DeFeo family, has been in recent years proved to be a hoax cooked up by the Lutz Family, in particular George Lutz.  The Lutz's as you may remember were the subject of both the book and subsequent Amityville Horror films.

I am originally from Bay Shore New York, a small shore town on Long Island's South Shore.  Amityville is only two towns away and I've always been interested in the circumstances of this whole story.  I mean they made such a big deal of it in the book, and especially the movies.  The original flick with Margot Kidder scared the hell out of me when I was a kid,
and whenever we passed the Amityville exit on the Southern State the memories of that movie would flash in my head.

Whenever I had friends visit from out of town from another state I would always make sure that when passing Amityville I would mention how that is the town where the movies and book took place.  It was a cool little factoid to tell people and when I found out it was all a hoax, I can't say I was surprised but definitely a little upset.  I was even more pissed to find out that the actual house is nothing more than a split-level house much like my own house in Bay Shore.  It is on the water, but the house is nothing special like they make it out to be in the movies.  It's not at all the secluded old mansion as portrayed in the 2005 film version.

Now all I'm wondering is that if this house could get over a million, (and some idiot will likely pay more than that just to tell everyone they know that they have the Amityville Horror house), who will haunt the shit out of these new tenants?  Every person that has lived there has undoubtedly heard a mouse crawling or wood creaking and chalked it up to the undead spirit of the DeFeo kid that murdered his family.  So these suckers need to be haunted by something at least, if they're gonna pay that much for a fucking split-level house on the South Shore.
